Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (or BJJ) is a martial art sport comprised primarily of grappling and ground fighting. BJJ is a truly unique self-defence system with leverage-based techniques, including joint-locks and chokeholds allowing a smaller opponent to overcome and subdue a bigger, stronger opponent.
Our kids BJJ program (7-10 years) and youth BJJ program (11-16 years) is suitable for everyone regardless of gender, fitness level and experience.
BJJ arms your children with the essential skills to confidently and effectively defend themselves in real life situations, particularly when the opponent is of a much bigger build. They will also learn how to apply techniques correctly and safely and respect their training partners.
In doing so (and more importantly), BJJ instils discipline, focus, self-confidence, respect, teamwork, courage and compassion – all characteristics of well-rounded kids who become well-rounded adults. As a result, the benefits of BJJ is inevitably felt and seen outside the gym — at home, at school, other extra-curricular activities etc.
