From a young age, David was raised on a healthy diet of 80’s martial arts action hero movies starring the likes of Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan. It was only after many years of begging and pleading and withstanding a hard time from his three older brothers that he was allowed to begin martial arts training at age 10. This would mark the beginning of a long and successful career spanning over 25 years to date.
David’s first martial art was karate – becoming a school boy karate champion. He then moved onto Wing Chun, kickboxing and then eventually BJJ. Throughout his training, David has competed successfully as both an amateur and professional at many state, national and international competitions.
David discovered his passion for teaching whilst training BJJ. As a teacher, David has a very hands on and holistic approach in his teaching style, having a very analytical and technical approach to help individuals exceed their goals, whether they may be fitness, self-defence or competition success.
